This test method is the official method for determining the mass per unit volume (“liter weight”) of oils and fats by measuring the mass of a calibrated pycnometer filled with the sample at a controlled temperature. It is used to convert between mass and volume for oils and fats and applies to samples that remain fully liquid during measurement.
